;) there;
Recently found this at the Opp shop. Has a gold foil label on it that says VALLAURIS and then some other signature. Have not clue what is says -- looks like *Unity* or something like that ??? Rough textured surface....I mean really rough!! It is about 7 inches tall and 5 inches wide at the widest point.
I thought I had read a long time ago that Vallauris was highly collectible, or their tiles ?? Is this item? Kinda take a fat lava shape -- to a whole *new* level.....LOL
Any info on this item, or the maker....or year? Thanks in Advance!! :kissy:

Hmmm this finish reminds me of a jar my mother used to have but I can't recall what the mark was on hers. There's a page of Vallauris marks here though Rose: http://www.studiopottery.com/cgi-bin/mp.cgi?item=98 might be worth a trawl through to see if there's a match?

That's really unusual Rose. I wonder if it is meant for flowers or for the table?

Hi there:
Found this site here: http://www.modernstudioart.co.uk/page7.htm (http://www.modernstudioart.co.uk/page7.htm) about some Vallauris potery.
I note that there is a name there of (Albert) Thiry?
Do you think this is what is could say on the bottom? Possible...as it looks like the word ends in a *Y*...so just throwing that out there.... ???
ADDED:
I might have answer my Own question here. See this site: http://www.ceramic-signatures.com/index.php?id_page=1438 (http://www.ceramic-signatures.com/index.php?id_page=1438) and scroll down to Albert Thiry (1931-2009). There is a sample of his signature there....see Here: http://data.immoserver.ch/file/18680/thumbnail/80x80/preview.jpg (http://data.immoserver.ch/file/18680/thumbnail/80x80/preview.jpg)
...or click there at the site for a *larger* image than the one I posted.
IMHO, it looks like it might be a match.............again, IMHO What do you Think??
Those are GOOD reference pages to Keep here on the Board too... I think :tup1:

I'm not convinced that its the same as the letter T isn't crossed at the top, and there appears to be two vertical lines at the beginning. I just wonder if it might be Jacques Innocenti instead? I'm going cross eyed looking :hm: :bolt:
Great website Rose - I've bookmarked it :kissy:
