Title: Germany Vase ?
Post by: Tony H on August 02, 2007, 09:57:10 AM
Hi Guys
This is a great idea, so here is my first post with photos I hope!!

This vase is 11.5" high and five" in diameter at the to on the base is 269. from the mould and printed is DEK . 40 not sure about the D it could be B or G.

I emailed  GinFor's Odditiques.com with photos and the reply was

It's possible that DEK 40 stands for Dekor 40, which would make it
German.  Otherwise, you'll have to stumble across one with a label or
more marks to ever be certain.  Still, I think I would lean toward
Carstens-Uffrecht.

 Forrest

I also emailed outernational but did not recieve any reply

Can anyone add to this, I think German

I'm not surprised at the date line, it is extremely similar in glaze style to Shelley Harmony drip ware that dates from late 20s early 30s.  Fashions seemed to go right around the continent then as now.
