CARLTONWARE....PITCHER
« on: April 23, 2008, 02:28:57 AM »
Hi there, I got this a while ago.  It is marked on the bottom (see photo), and says *Australian Design* so I was NOT sure where I should post this -- but since it was Made in England -- I guess here.

The impressed mark looks like 1885/1.  does anyone know anything about this at all, and name (?) or age on this?

TIA

Hi Rose, that is the Foxglove pattern, designed c. 1940, the backstamp was in use between 1935-61.

Thanks...Great, great site there...

So it is called FOXGLOVE...neat....and what does it mean where it says *Australian Design* ??   Does that mean it was made there, or what? Or is the Foxglove a flower design from there...

Sorry, but I do not know... :hb: :bh:
