Double handled crock

Does anyone know what this type of crock was used for. Im think it is German ? Age Im thinking 1860- 1880. What do you think. You can see it was  cut off the potters wheel on the bottom.

For image links just copy/paste the URL into the message and the board will make it into a clickable link for you, you don't need to add any BB code tags to it either. HTML scripting isn't activated on here for security reasons so ends up looking a bit of a jumble as you can see.

Ok. I have a tiny stoneware pitcher I will try next.
