Looking at the Delft marks on the site Christine linked to on my post about the tea jar, http://www.oldandsold.com/pottery/holland1.shtml  I noticed no. 18 - a cockerel - and it rang a bell!  Could it be the same as on this vase, also inherited from my great-aunt? 

BTW, this was in perfect condition when I inherited it, but my stupid clod of an ex-husband knocked it down the stairs!  :boohoo: I was heartbroken, but he dismissed it as, "Too bad!  It's broken now.  What are you going to do about it?" (Philistine!  >:( )  Well, I carefully collected every tiny piece I could find (and believe me, some of them really were tiny!) and painstakingly put it back together! <smug> :ao:  ;D

Fairly sure this is Cantagalli following a quick search, I dont have Godden but if someone does from memory I think it can be dated from the number.

Yes, Martyn.  I think I have to agree with you, after looking at Cantagalli marks!  Thank you, again!   :kissy:

Can anyone find the date from the number?  I'd be very grateful.

I also have a copper lustre vase that I have been trying to find out about - the designs are art nouveau, after william de morgan who spent time in Italy and contributed designs to Canatagalli - so I think these vases date from 1900 and are art nouveau, yours is in the persian/iznik style, and mine in the stylized plant style, but same colourways - does anybody agree/disagree ? The colours of copper lustre are fab in my opinion, and far less common than the renaissance style designs

Hi, i have been busy away from the board for a while now, but i am now back!!! what is the writing on your vase please? also the Arnhem factory also used the cockeral mark.

Thanks for reply. The writing is the word cantagalli in blue. I have an Arnhem plate, it is a traditional delft type pattern of flowers. I don't think they made copper lustre, Cantagalli did.
