These look a little like Ruskin in style but aren't.
I can only identify 56 so i assume 1956. I've looked at so many texts Hebrew, celtic... All seem to have some of these letters but not all. I'm out of ideas.
Can anyone help?

It could be , several similar symbols...I still cant make it fit all the letters though.

Arabic would be my guess, the glaze is similar to Middle-Eastern pieces that I've seen. Another option could be Islamic, but I'm leaning towards Persian (showing my age there).
If you always expect the worst you'll never be disappointed.

You could easily be right. Yet again many symbols look similar, but not all ,so I still can't work this out!
