No idea - Container??
« on: August 03, 2010, 08:03:05 AM »
Hi, I got this in a box of Estate stuff.  Something about the style reminds me of similar shapes I either saw by Suzy Cooper, or Holt Howard.....(maybe the pixie series).  I am NOT saying this is what it is --- Just the shape, and the lid remind me of something else I have seen.  I am leaning towards Holt Howard shape of something like this....that is all.

Maybe the shape is defined as a *pixie* style ??? ??

Has the initials of G.D on the bottom and '76, which is 1976 (I assume) not 1876 --  :24:

Maybe this is just a ceramic piece make from someone, or a piece make, but unmarked -- not sure -- but I like the design, and the style.  i think the flowers are done too good for just a home-made ceramic....

Any ideas?  Thanks

Hi Rose, the pot reminds me of some Italian shapes and decoration looks like amateur painted pieces possibly done at home or club, i see quite a few pieces painted like this in the U.K. on blank pottery, I could be wrong though. (Im guessing the paint is on top of the Glaze?)

Robert.

Thanks Robert -- I will have to take a closer look to see if it is.  I still think it is cute, and looks like the date of '76 on it.
