Decanter and Cups/Sealed...
« on: July 24, 2010, 11:11:23 PM »
Hi, I just got this today.  it reminds me of something on the Board here before.  I think it was a Sylvac Scary Cat.  Now I know nothing about that, except this reminded me of it.  I see no marks at all, and I think it was the color, and the pattern -- but not sure if it is.

This is the way I bought it -- Sealed up like this -- so I did not want to disturb it.  Not sure if it was ever opened then re-sealed, of if this is the way it was purchased.

Can anyone tell me what it is?   Is is Sylvac?  If not, what is it?

It is quite large as I just realized I forgot to measure it in my (possible) excitement.....but will get the measurement posted later.  There is a penny in the one pic to help with Size comparison.

Anyways ---------- HELP.................and Thanks.

The display on the side of the decanter looks quite Mexican/Incan/Mayan to me Rose. You might want to go down that line. Is there any marking on the bottom? And don't get to excited about that it is sealed. It could have been done yesterday by the sixth owner  ;)

Looks almost Tiki. Shape looks a bit like a moon flask.

Yup -- I realize that.  Could be that, or could be never used.  Not sure yet, but just left as is for now to see if I could get ID....as I may have to open it up to look closer anyways.

I am not sure about it -- BUT what it did remind me of was Mid-Modern design, and color of either (??) Retro Danish, Scand, or Italian.

The reason that I kinda thought this way, is that it **reminded me** of things like this (color, and geometrics):

As is just *reminded*  me of Mid-Modern Design, and the Color funky green color.

I do like that Rose, it surely has a south American feel about it but I wouldn't know where to start to ID it.
Cheers!

Hi there -- I know why I bought this -- because it reminded me of Bitossi stuff I have seen, and the colors.  So I was thinking this might be Italian.....

Any ideas?  Would this be called a Decanter, or something else.....

What do you guys think....when I was hunting around for that *Horse* I just posted here -- that was what (thinking) also for this item.  Possible ?? ??

Let me know......
