Wedgwood mark on old plates
« on: November 22, 2010, 10:34:56 PM »
Does anyone know what the two strange impressed marks are on my two Wedgwood plates please?  They look like a V shape with a dot in the centre.  Both plates are also marked with a handpainted number 1836.  I'm guessing this is a pattern number and not a date, although I think the plates are quite old.  They have a yellowish glaze on the front with a bluish tint that can be seen faintly on the back also.  I'll post a pic. of the plates tomorrow, but here's the mark pic. in the meantime.
Many thanks  ;)
