IVORY ON WOOD

Hi this is a pair of ? I think they are something to do with silk allthough what, i dont know..They are 245,mm long and have two nicely carvd pieces of ivory,The wood carving is good to.

They'd be awfully big for lace bobbins wouldn't they? Mine are only around 4  inches long - Robert's would be around 9? inches long. The longest I've seen are around 5 inches.

We (my OH and I) think what you have are two pieces from a silk spinning wheel.

Keith I don't do metric either,  :pst: which is why I have a steel tape measure on the shelf next to the computer, so I can convert everything from metric to things I understand!  :notme:
