Possibly italian
« on: June 05, 2011, 02:41:33 PM »
I think this is Continental, Italian or Spanish. It has the remanence of gilding. On one side the mirror has a beveled hedged but the revers side is flat and has stared to lose some flecks of silver .I do not think this is a tourist piece as the handle has very finely pierced work. It stands at 325 mm the mirror is 140 mm in diameter. Any help with it`s origins or age . Thank you .

It's looks to be part of a dressing table set like this one... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180675369745#ht_16541wt_905

I've always thought them to be English because of this...

That stamp was found on a dressing table set and can be seen in sticker form on numerous dressing table items much like the one shown in your photo.

TC, your Gallery link is not going to the right image. Can you check and update it please?  You need to use the URL below the image, not the one in the address bar. It'll end in a - followed by numbers. :)
Cheers!
