Chinese or Japanese Aesthetic dish for ID please - ID = Arita
« on: January 11, 2014, 06:50:38 PM »
I have also had this small dish for a number of years and still not sure if it Japanese or Chinese in origin, due to the typically Japanesque aesthetic design to the interior, but then I look at the underside and it looks more Chinese to me, it has had me puzzled for a very long time.

It is 4?" in diameter

Any help in the ID and rough age of this dish would be appreciated.

100% Japanese  :)

I'm not very good when it comes to Japanese ceramics, but this looks to be a fairly typical Arita piece, probably from around the end of the 19th century.

Thank you for solving the mystery! :) It really had me stumped for quite a while, I have never been able to find another one searching online.
