Hi
My 1st post on this message board hope all goes well, since my wife bought a piece of Westerwald at car boot 15 months ago I have been collecting many pieces for her
I bought this large Jardiniere recently, it looks like a Westerwald piece, although would I be correct in saying there were many different makers in the area.
Each piece has a mark on the base which I have been unable to find in any books, there is also an impressed 22 on the base and 33 on the top, I think it must date to late 19 century
Very heavy weight over 20 kgs, itwas also very dirty when bought, I have with just warm soapy water and a toothbrush gently cleaned, but there is still much dirt which I feel could be cleaned off if I knew what best to use
many thanks for any help
regards roy
