The flowers on the base remind me of Capodimonte. Is that felt on the base and will it wash off so that we can see a mark?

Thanks  :tgs:  since I know nothing about figurines, I did go to this site...i do see some similarities is some bases.....for Capodimonte....

While I was Rummaging around on Ebay, I did find this: Item number: 290166298633, and my question for this is...

Now I have a question, since the bottom of mine has worn felt on it, I did note that the bottom of mine has two circles in the base (left/right sides)..Now with the Ebay example I put here, I note that this one has two circles in the base too....Would this mean anything, or are all bases for figurines have these circles in them???

Would these circles underneath (even if covered with felt) help to identify any markers....anyone know of site to shown bottom of figurines in order to identify ??? ??? ???

Do you mean two round circles of porcelain, one on each side of the hollow base?

I am afraid these tend to be seen on modern cheap porcelain figures, often from Taiwan and China.

 8) 8)  That sounds like an idea...what have I got to lose.  It just looked like the felt was factory put on, since it is formed so well, not like someone like me, slapping on a piece of felt....Anyways, I think I will try that....Thanks. :)

And if nothing, I can put it with my UGLY BIG VASE in a garage sale... :24: :24:

Hi Rose, it is quite possible the felt was put on at the factory - they often were.  However, you can also buy felt with a sticky back made to be put on the bottom of figurines etc. to stop marking so it could be either.

dampen the very edge lightly, and let it sit for a bit, then ease the felt back from the porcelain until you can peer inside. That way you wont stretch it too much and can stick it back again if you wish.
