Carl Schumann lace plate
« on: October 07, 2007, 01:13:47 AM »
One of the things often found in the living space on canal boats in the UK was lace plates. Many were souvenir-ware like this one from the Burton book - another of Barry's pics. This is not marked but matches known patterns made by Carl Schumann, of Arzberg, Bavaria. It is believed to date from somewhere between 1871-1888.
Cheers!
