L.S. Lowry

I'm not sure if it says 1950, 19504 or 1954, not sure of the name either. The print (not the frame) measures 24" x 20".

Note, this seems to be a variation on the other Sailing Boat pictures by Lowry. On this one the sails of the two large boats are cream coloured where as on the other prints they have red sails. This seems like an earlier print. The frame is held together with screws and four 'L' shaped bits of metal which are very rusty.

Here you are TC, it's called Yachts at Lytham, currently on sale as a print from The Lowry in Salford: https://secure.thelowry.com/shop/view.aspx?pg=80

I really like Lowry, both his northern scenes which are very reminiscent of my childhood, and his other stuff, much of which you'd not realise was Lowry as it's nothing like his matchstick people pics. Another artist in the same genre is Helen Bradley, who lived at Grange-over-Sands, and who painted scenes from her northern childhood.
Cheers!
