Do any of you use Kijiji ?

Do any of you use Kijiji ?   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kijiji

We have Kijiji here, and I guess it sort of like E-bay (which I do not have an account, or have used except to research).

I use Kijiji to help *download* things here like clothing (toys) my kid has out-grown.  Since it is winter here, it is impossible to have a (outdoor) garage sale.....so if I have something to get out of my basement, WHY wait for summer...I do it on Kijiji here locally....  (eg) http://saskatoon.kijiji.ca/

There are people whom put on antiques and stuff here, so I imagine it is the same for you to post....

I just thought I would mention this here, as maybe if someone wants to sell, swap, look for stuff...they could try there too.  Or if you are going through some stuff in the house, and just want to get rid of it (pottery, glass, old clothing, junk in the house, cupboards....whatever)....why not try it there?

Just a suggestion for everybody... ;)

Never heard of it Rose, but thanks for flagging it up. It seems not to be available in the UK (yet!) but will no doubt land here at some time. I wonder how it makes money?
Cheers!

Hope that will get you interested.....or maybe you can be the one to start it there, or see that it gets started.  On the wikipedia site I posted there, it says something about it came from/or out of the idea of Ebay (subsidiary) and was launched in March 2005.

I see it says that they have it in place for Germany.   http://www.kijiji.de/

They sell advertising to others business....so if you post a car to sell, there will also be (car) advertisments to click on for these ads on the web pages from business (at only the bottom of the page)

Also, if you want your ad to be highlighted (comes up at all the top of the pages for any topic I believe - so then more people see it).....they do charge the seller (regular person) a charge to have the ad do this.  They contacted me to see if I wanted my ad highlighted, BUT since I did not have a *credit card* (do not use them), I could not high light my ad.

This was where I posted those Christmas crafts that I made before Xmas....I have bought some things for my kid, and some antiques from it.  I have put movies (DVD) etc (anything) on there - just to get rid of stuff here.  As anything, you do have to be careful, as there are people that try to scam you, or post things saying it is here (where i live) but somewhere else (tim-buck-two).....so as always -- It is still buyer beware.  This is sort of my E-bay thing here that I use.....and like I said, you can sell almost anything.....well, almost

It is quite popular here.  I check it every day, and you can get some really good deals, as there are free articles.  I saw a beautiful table and chairs that some old people were giving away....they were just about a couple miles from my home.  Unfortunelatey, I was the second person to enquire about it.  Tha lady said to me (I had given my number to her, as I wanted this set badly, and free) she had said to me if the first people do not show up it would be mine....but alas, they showed up  :boohoo:

Always good that we can help each other with anything as for information... ;)

See:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gumtree

or read other site:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kijiji

Yup I just found that Rose... that's probably why they haven't launched kijiji here then.
Cheers!
