ID help with studio pottery tray - signed

I bought this dish, or call it sort of a flat tray dish.  It has someone signature on it.  Any ideas who, and year?
Every flower that has ever bloomed, had to go through a whole lot of DIRT FIRST......:flowers2:

Andrea, this could be native indian work, as the signature look's like a stylised buffalo to me??
