German Vase - Manufacturer?
« on: July 02, 2012, 05:41:35 PM »
Trying to identify manufacturer and period of manufacture for the attached vase.  Made from dark clay(reddish) like Roth, marked simply germany like B & D, with number 516 nothing else.  Seems to be drip glaze with gilded lip.  any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the board. :) Your pic's a little fuzzy, we could perhaps do with a sharper one, and a  clear closeup shot of the base too if possible.
Cheers!

Thanks for the tip, I had seen that site earlier (that is where I got the D B idea.  Checked it again and I see some other dark clay potters.

Lovely to meet you Ted. Will be there in September for a few days, via Seattle and on my way to Vancouver.
