Knitting patterns

Yes OK i'll come out of the closet.
I also have a collection of over 5,000 knitting patterns. Yep the one's your granny used to make that special jumper for you at Christmas birthdays etc,
But sad to say they are now becoming a burden and I wish to pass them on to someone else. My OCD kicked in big time with these, at first I scanned the front of everyone, and logged them on a spreadsheet, under Maker, type number, condition, even how much and where it came from! Sad I know. But having said that they are all filed in plastic folders and in 20 lever arch folders.
So if someone would like to start a new collection/hobby this would make an excellent start. Some date back to the 1920's but most are from the 1960/70s. Many with famous faces before they were famous.
They sell for about 50p-?1.50 on ebay so 5000 x ?1 = ?5000! That is if you want to buy them one at a time. I would sell the lot for 10% of that.
If anyone is interested drop me a line and I am sure we can work something out.

hi Pip we have over the years sold folders of them about 80 in 1 folder, but we only ever seem to get about ?5.00 for the lot. The big issue is the weight, as you know paper is so heavy when you have 5000 patterns to shift. If you like I can bring them to Kempton on Tuesday and you can have them!!! It's OK i'll square it with Paul. I'm sure you have room in your house for 30 A4 leverarch folders :)

One of the classic one's I have is the origian Starskey & Hutch cadigan pattern you know the long white one with black inca patterns. Had a few of those, sold quite well.

60s,70s patterns about 2500-3000
About 50% of the collection
The oldest is a WW 1 service knit for the fleet hats gloves mittens scarves etc

Ohnot that bad, just like to get things listed on the P.C. when we got home.
Used to trawl the charity shops for them came home with bags full, sat down with a cup of tea sorted them into maker then into age then into number, scaned them and filed them in files. FREAK!!!
