Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee plate
« on: May 22, 2008, 05:59:31 PM »
Have had this on the shelf for years, had been cracked and reglued before it came to me - hence the dark lines. (No idea what they used but it won't unglue even in hot water like some repairs do!)

Anyhow, it's a commemorative plate of the Diamond Jubilee, and marked on the back MADE IN ENGLAND followed by W.L followed by L

I'm thinking it could be William Lowe of Longton even though this mark isn't mentioned here: http://www.thepotteries.org/allpotters/669.htm
Cheers!

Those initials aren't used by any other known Staffordshire firm, so it's probably by them. http://www.thepotteries.org/mark/w/index.html
