I feel sure this is German jugendstil though i have seen similar belgian and Hungarian wares. Does anyone recognise the marks?
Sorry about the quality of the pictures
Thanks,

Thanks Tigerchips!!...I feel so silly I thought  VB straight away but dismissed it as an ID because I thought I knew the relevant marks.
THis seems to be an early mark 1850-1873... but surely it is later than that.  Is it possible they continued to use the mark later or was it a very advanced design?
Thanks again Tigerchips.

Ahh.........it seems I only knew the marks for VB Mettlach and this is for Dresden.....
I'd like to find the date / name of the design next if anyone knows a good source for this. Ill get looking.

Thanks Antiquerose, I'm pleased with it. I collect German design 1900- 1915 so i was happy to get this. I think  ?35 was a fair enough price. It is huge- 50cm high.
