Wooden Trays - tote art ??
« on: February 07, 2009, 06:10:00 PM »
I feel that these have a European flow to them.  Not sure what they are called, or from what country at all.  These are bright, and have nice colors to them.  Not sure if hade made, or machine made, or age.

Any ideas at all? TIA

Tole rather than Tote, Rose :) (Although they carry things too.)

Could be eastern European, Hungary and Rumania produce a lot of this type of artwork. Very much a folk art. I rather like them as their are similarities to canalware - often made for the souvenir market and brought back off people's holidays.
Cheers!
