Unfinished Derby
« on: July 01, 2017, 02:32:49 AM »
I came by these two items without realising they were Derby. To me they look completely different without the gilding and the red paint. I think it's the Imari pattern, just not finished for whatever reason. They are not marked other than a single green letter on each piece, probably a shape/pattern letter or something like that. They are still worth a bit, although not as much as the finished ones. Might be worth looking out for, maybe spot them on a car boot for 50p or something...  :)

I have seen unfinished ones before, was surprised when I first came across them years ago. I cannot remember the pattern number of the top of my head, but they would have been the imari decorated pieces, if finished. Nice find, as they can fetch a good price.

They are rather nice! I've never seen them in that state before.
Cheers!
