Wishful thinking Carter stabler adams? Id please
« on: September 10, 2009, 01:01:38 PM »
Hello all,

Whilst I am new to this board, am a regular on GMB, and have already found a few familiar names.  Thanks to a link to this site by "Tigerchips" on GMB am now eager to learn more from here about my pots.

So for now, anyone any idea as to who this rather interestingly painted jug might belong.

I picked it up at the weekend, immediately reminded me of early Poole, or poss Colledge/Denby.  Now feel that I was a little too hopeful, as the painting in MHO is a little more crude. But I really like it, and its got a new home.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to learning more....... Sharron

What a super jug, one I wouldn't mind owning to be honest. Almost certainly not Poole or Denby, my initial feeling is something along the lines of Rye or similar,  especially as the jug looks to be wheel-thrown rather than moulded (see the ribbing on the inside where the potters fingers have drawn the clay up).
If you always expect the worst you'll never be disappointed.

Hi and WELCOME to the Board -  Elmwood64...  :cheerleader:

Glad to see you pop over from GMB, where you might recognize my name there too!  Haven't been on to much lately, but I am there in the search menu with all my questions too!!  Glad TC (a.k.a = Tigerchips) gave you the nudge over here.

Very pretty.  Yes, as CM states, you can see the rings on the inside.  I am gonna pop out for a second while I root around some too.....NOT that I know a darn thing, but sometimes I get lucky  ;D .too ....  :24:

<......long pause....>

Hi I am back.....wonder if you will see anything on here, similar:

http://www.studiopottery.com/cgi-bin/makerindex.cgi?handle=potid (might want to BOOK MARK IT, and get a fresh cup of coffee....)

Did I mention there are like.......7,300 PAGES there... :o

P.S.  Do those red medillions in the middle have sort of an Asian flare to it?  Can you get a close up and post it here of that ?

 Thxs
