I bought these two ashtrays, one is New York World's Fair 1939 and the other is believed to be a silver plated M.S Oranje ashtray which has "? HH 90" stamped on the back.

I've just found this, it's silver plate and made by H. Hooijkass.

Tony,
This may be silver, rather than silver plate as one Dutch silver standard is 900 parts per thousand, and often marked 90 on the item.

If it's silver it should have one of these marks.

Indeed, but i have a jug marked 80 but it's not on there.
So anyway, i guess if anyone comes by one of those marks they can 'probably' narrow it down to either German, Dutch, Danish or Austrian.
