Hi all
I know absolutly nothing when it comes to all things metal, but i found this and quite liked it (plus it was only ?10, it was probably ?9.99 in ikea knowing my luck)
It stands at 41 inches tall and weighs 3kgs
All the pices are on a metal rod and the top piece unscrews so you can take all of the other bits off.
I dont think its brand new, but i dont think its very old either somewhere within the last 20 years maybe.
does anybody recognise it at all? the base has a black velt type material
as you can see i havent had a chance to clean it yet
many thanks
michelle

Hi there:  Is it metal, or is that coated with that Silver mercury?  What about Black nickel?

Mercury:  http://www.insideavenue.com/p-5105-spiral-mercury-glass-candle-holder.aspx

Black Nickel:  http://www.insideavenue.com/p-5183-isa-candle-holder-black-nickel.aspx

Could the top be coated with either -- or is it chrome??   ???

I will have to ask jon tonight which metals he thinks it is when he gets home tonight

My guess (??) silver mercury, black nickel -- I would go with black nickel, myself as a guess....see:

Click here and when you are on that page go down (8 pics) and take a look at this lamp finish that has a title of:  Brushed nickel Lamp Floral Shade

Finish on this one looks similar to yours -- what do you think as you are right there by the lamp.   Let me know OK and if we are heading in the right direction..

 :kissy: ;)
