Yes the number is 32161 in front is a capital R  then a small capital d underlined twice above the mark is the worddiamond written  the number is underlined and the total is also underlined  the ink is a red colour , the design appears hand painted floral design - struggled to get a big picture on this but would be able to e-mail full pic - would   appreciate any knowledge you have

The Rd stands for registration it usually means when the design for the piece was first registered, the date your piece would be from that date until they stopped production whenever that was,a pic' of the vase would help if poss'

Hi Terry and welcome to the board. Feel free to email me larger copies of your images and I'll sort them and add copies here for you. It'll help us see the detail better. You can send to me at pottery.board(AT)pottery.yobunny.com - but change the (AT) to @ to make the address work.  :bny:
Cheers!

Have found some Japanese teacups called 'Diamond' but they date from the end of the 2nd World War so I don't think it's them.

'Diamond' is most likely a pattern name.

I wondered that too TC, although there were a couple of Diamond China companies but they don't match this backstamp. I've sent Terry a link to replacements.com to see if he can find a match there too.
Cheers!
