There's a chappie at Milnthorpe called Albert.... (oh I can't recall his surname!) but he does beautiful wooden ducks. I wonder if it's one of his, Rob?  He usually exhibits at the Milnthorpe Art Show in the church - it's 28th - 31st July this year. Might be worth a look to see if he's there and ask him if it is one of his.... http://www.milnthorpe-artexhibition.co.uk/

Just found an old catalogue and his name is Albert Holding! :)

Is that just a fancy name for a prize or could it be related to the theme park called 'Flamingo Land' in North Yorkshire?

I've found several mentions of a Flamingo Cup so far...

1. a golf tournament - http://picasaweb.google.com/kimhbrown2/2009EWGAFlamingoCupTournament
2. a tag wrestling contest - http://www.myspace.com/worldprowrestling/blog/517892907
3. a rugby tournament - https://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=2356332305&topic=3963
4. a horse race - http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1088420/index.htm

Personally I think it should be a trophy for a croquet match! (If you've not read Alice in Wonderland that may not make sense!!!)   :nah:

Cheers!

A duck hunting trophy maybe?

I don't think it's a booby prize, more like first prize. Wooden ducks are very collectible, especially the fake ones that were made to float on water for duck hunting.

That's a shame TC, you seemed to be finding all sorts. I was telling Rob about your finds when we talked recently.

Are you OK hunny bunny?
Cheers!
