weird stoneware vase markings - help needed
« on: December 27, 2016, 10:06:05 PM »
Hi All

Got this vase today and cannot make out full marks

its an impressed badge type mark, i can read "Member of the" then i cannot read te word underneath

it has at bottom of badge "Founded" then cannot read the rest of that part

it looks potentially like a horse in the middle of the badge as a leg and tail at the right hand side

at the very bottom left it says "82 eed"

Any help needed

Cheers

Hello and welcome, could we see a picture of the vase, it might help with identification, I tried to enhance the picture but this was the best I could do  ;D ;D

Hello and welcome to the board. Am I right in thinking you are in the UK? Sometimes knowing where a piece was found helps in running to ground who made it. I did wonder if the words said Victoria Club? There was one in London's East End for Jewish boys, founded 1901 but I can't imagine why they would have need of a stoneware vase.  Certainly photos of the whole piece would be welcome as it might give us something else to work on.
Cheers!
