My aunt had one like that, it was on a coiled lead and you could pull it up and down, it was over her dining table.

I remember those ones - they had a large chrome handle underneath to pull it up and down did'nt they?  The dining table would be Gordon Russell and made of teak of course....

My mother in law had a Gordon Russell teak round table, with the chairs that slotted in under the table top, I always liked it.  She went very strange when my FIL died and she was moving into a retirement complex and gave nearly all the furniture away to charity...

:(

I always liked that table too.....

Oooohhh yes, a rise'n'fall pendant. I have one waiting to go up over the table here... when himself finds some time to do it for me. :)
Cheers!

Nothing printed on mine, and not so closed at the bottom now i look properly, mine came with the house which was lucky as we intended to furnish and decorate in the 60s -70s style to accomodate my pottery which is mainly from that era.

I think its rather like buying a new make of car.... you had never seen it on the streets before, but suddenly it seems everyone is driving one.  It's just that your eyes are tuned in now...

But friends calling and such doesn't fall into that group does it? That is just....spooooookkkkkkyyyyyy.......

The rise'n'fall movements at the top all seem to be made in Italy.
Cheers!
