Oooops. A client of the vile-ex's gave us a Winterling dinner service as a wedding present. Greyish white, it has a spray of bullrushes on one side.

I assumed at the time ('78) that it was a cheap bargain set of seconds. I hated it with a vengeance, because it put a kybosh on my dream Denby..
Turned out good, though, 'cos later on my real favourite Denby design came out, so I wasn't stuck with the  :blush: beige and pink roses  :hlp: I would have chosen then.

Something about the vile-ex did something yuckerly dreadful for my good taste. Surgical bypass, I think.

Still use the (pattern now almost missing) Winterling as kitchen surplus - the stuff stuff gets put on in the fridge etc.
Growing old is inevitable. Growing up isn't.
