AHS Anita Harris Studio
« on: January 12, 2008, 07:36:03 PM »
Saw a couple of lovely vases today marked AHS (and possibly made in England) and found out they are Anita Harris Studio and quite modern - I would have thought older from the mark. Anyway here is the website www.anitaharrisstudio.co.uk/index.htm One of them was Iris Flame - lovely glaze. May have to consider buying it if it's still there next week

Anita also worked for the sister company Cobridge,I collect her Cobridge pots as the glazes are superb.
She was brought in to work at Cobridge so they could produce pottery with a more simplistic style that could be sold at a cheaper price than the more complex patterns that the other Cobridge designers were producing.

I only have pieces fom Cobridge and her latest studio Sue.
Anita used the same monogram at both A/H.
I wasn't taken by her work at Poole, she mainly designed ranges for mass production .
Moorcroft is not my kinda thing so i don't know what she got up to there?

This is exactly the same as her Cobridge monogram but is on the base of a pot from her present studio.

DROOOOOOL!

I've seen (I'm pretty sure it's Anita Harris) Cobridge work, in beigey background, (a bit like salt glaze) with navy blue, shadowy trees, a bit like the African thing-design on the limited edition bit of the site -
a little similar to the only Moorcroft design I really, really like....
(naturally, it's one of the horribly expensive, rare early ranges)
Growing old is inevitable. Growing up isn't.
