Victorian Pefume Scent Container
« on: January 20, 2008, 10:45:57 AM »
Hi, I have this.  It is Victorian, and can be used to hold perfume, smelling salts, or Vinegar.  It is in a little rough shape, but who wouldn't be after those many years...

Seen anything similar?

Thxs.

I think they were designed either to hold something nicely smelly to counteract the odours of the street/the great unwashed or maybe for smelling salts when the lady of the house had the vapours and fainted.   Is it hallmarked Rose?
Cheers!
