Topic: A fake?

Hi there, I searched everywhere for this maker "Shafforr" hand painted in Japan then I found this picture  from another poster on your site that says "Shafford" and it is exactly the same except for the 'r' instead of the 'd'. Is that a fake? If so, it is funny, because it is not really that valuable right? Why would there be a fake of it?

I thought maybe it was a stamping error, but it is stamped that way on all three pieces.

Hello, don't think it;s a fake from what I can find these were produced in the early 20th century and are quite common. Japan hand painted numerous pieces with English script in all shapes and forms,

Thanks for your reply Oh, so the text in the maker's mark is hand painted. If it were new staff doing all three pieces, that would explain the repeated error. That makes me smile.
