Hello all, bought this nice painting of a seascape oil on canvas by H.Gailey. Anyone more information about this artist=

Hi Bas, there seems to be an awful lot of these about, beautiful though they are.

Doing some rummaging seems to indicate they are mass-produced in Hong Kong - see here: http://www.theasiaco.com/ for the listing. Click the H Gailey link and go to the 3rd page you'll see the seascapes.
Cheers!

I think it means the artists don't really exist, at least not under those names. The original paintings are produced in house and then dozens of copies (in oils) are made for sale

It reminds me of Bob Ross, perhaps using the same wet-on-wet technic? http://bjdecastro.com/art/night-waves.html

I guess one wave looks the same as another though.  :24:

It gives the same peace and calm as to listen to Bob.

Hi Bas, i think Anne is right and it is probably from Hong Kong and a copy of another painting, i got confused because it reminded me of paintings from Derek Hare  http://www.derekhare.co.uk/ and also i lived in Hong Kong for some time and may have seen something similar there  :-\

Ok thanks, never thought it would be worth millions, as I payed only 5 euro for it. It hangs in my bedroom now and I sleep very well....
