Yellow Glazed -- Canadian
« on: April 26, 2008, 06:49:26 AM »
Hi, I just got this, and know nothing about it at all, but it is Canadian.  I do not think it is homemade, cuz if you look at how *Canada* is written, it just looks too proffessional.
 :sign_pics:

Looks like it might say" ___?__?__, then under that it looks like a PC or maybe MC....then says Canada on it.  It sure looks nice among my BMP that I have, as this is a real little blast of color...

I really love it...

Can anyone read/know/figure/understand what it says.....or know anything at all?

Hi Rose, it looks like Mela or Mola followed by PC (perhaps for Pottery Company?) then Canada.  Or could P C be an abbreviation of a placename in Canada I wonder?
Cheers!

To quote someone older (maybe) and sillier than myself, could you perhaps go over the writing with a soft pencil or some ash or something. We might be able to determine that top word for sure that way.

I just stumbled onto this -- it is a longshot, as to this, but I guess it would depend on which *artist* signed....does it sort of look similar?  Scroll down to where it shows the writing on this E-bay one.

Click Here Please  (Ineke BC - pottery)

Three lines of writing: Name, then BC, then Canada...just a guess here.  The marks (from Kiln) look the same to as to mine  ??? ???  your opinions?

Now just found this, after I googled that name:

I really think this is the same - click here  See the signed pieces

a basket also click here and one more Yellow/black basket

Sorry I got carried away, but now that I stumbled upon a *Name* -- I have found a whole bunch of examples for information.  It is so easy to find stuff, with a name...

:cheerleader: :cheerleader: I think it's a match..

Hi there - I could not read the name, and went into Ebay.ca, and typed in *Canadian Pottery* since I only knew it was Canadian.  I was actually looking for something else, but then as I was clicking through pictures, I stumbled upon a pix of a vase with similar writing on it, but the author @ Ebay had posted the name of INEKE there.  So on a whim, I then googled in Ineke pottery, and that lead me to a whole bunch of other examples.  Some with the name more readable signatures, but similar.  Then I found similar colors, and then I found one with the writing much like mine...

Yay! Well done Rose!  I'd never have figured Ineke from that script!  :czy:

I would have never figured out that name (by the script) either in a million years....actually, I was on Ebay trying to figure/look for a similar DEER like Lustrousstone's....thinking it was Canadian....but what Canadian company (??) Canuck Pine, BMP, McMaster, etc.....

So then I just typed in *Canadian pottery* looking for something similar to the glaze on Lustrousstone Deer.....but that just so happened helped me stumble onto this....lol...honest.  :-\ :24: :cheerleader:
