American -- Cornucopia Vase
« on: December 15, 2008, 09:48:21 AM »
Hi, I have this horn of plenty (cornucopia) vase also.  It is gold stamped *Made in USA*.  I believe the gold on it is what is called here as *Bleeding Gold*, but I have no idea still as the maker in USA that made it.  I (think) it is old though, and looks very deco to me by the pink colors, and the style.  I am thinking maybe the 1940's or 1950's?

I pulled ( :o ) the felt off the bottom to see if I could find anything out (except the white clay), but nothing else... :boohoo:

any ideas?  TIA

Gee, TC -- What good eyes you must have.  I will have to take a closer look at it in the daylight, as it is 4:35 .am. here.  I will get a magnifying glass out to see.

 Did I ever mention that I wear glasses....

lol....

I may have stumbled on something myself here, but I still am NOT sure of the maker, but I did find these JUST like mine...(since the owner of these is also not sure)....

Pics look to be the same...even the felt looks the same, so the felt must have been original too.  Maybe I should have not taken off (?)

Update:  OMG....

As I continued to look through this site, I stumbled upon another cornucopia vase that I had taken a pic of, but had not posted yet.  I have one just like this one too:  http://www.rubylane.com/shops/carmelcollectibles/item/86388 but mine has the gold lined flower decorated a bit differently...but do not know this maker yet either.

Here is a pic of my vase:
