Old pipe (tobacco)
« on: February 08, 2009, 11:04:58 AM »
I think it's German? I would like to know the manufacturer/age if possible. It's hand painted on porcelain.

Looks like the one on sale on eBay TC:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330306122640 - does yours have all three parts?

This site: http://www.pipesmoking.net/pipesmoking04.php says it's an Alsatian pipe (noooo not for dogs!!!  :24:) Alsace: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alsace
Cheers!

Started to appear in the 19th century and are still around today, so TC's could be any age I guess. We need  pipe expert to find out more really.
Cheers!
