Bought this ( ring) at an Estate sale for a $1.00.  Seems to be vintage....and Sterling.  Just doing some homework on this tonight too

Those big chunky rings seem to be an American thing don't they? Apart from this one Rose found, I have read of fraternity rings which identify which frat you belonged to at uni/college, and the biker gangs have them as well - rather knuckle-duster-ish some of them though!

I just found out some info on this.  The LGB on the inside stands for L. G. BALFOUR Company:  http://www.balfour.com/  and they do do championship rings.   I imagine that since it is dated 1992, the style of rings would be different than what they have now.  I should contact them to see if they can tell me anything.  So a reputable company, and I would imagine the * STER * means STERLING SILVER.  I would think worth more than $1.00 that I paid...

So I think I am getting warm here. .....and YIKES  , I also found that 1992 Dallas Cowboy ring was stolen (but it is not this one) as it is sorta the same, but had DIAMONDS on the top....
