Warning ! I am no expert at all so these are just observations.
Stable repair indicates age though they were done up to the end of the 30s I believe.
The floral reserves and band above seem to be in the "western taste" or what the Chinese thought was such and looks a bit hurried / sloppy.
Whereas the 5 toed fire dragons are done in good detail.  Look for other items with fire dragons (background of flames instead of just the pearls in flames).
If were you I'd be looking at a date when Chinese export wares started to be done in the western taste for the English middle classes. I'm not good on dates but I think around the mid to late 18th century.
1796 was a fire dragon year (every 60 years).
I hope this helps or at least is entertaining
Pete

Hi Keith,

It's a nice bowl - I particularly like the dragon design. My thoughts are that this is likely a 'Canton' piece. I'm basing this on the sprays of flowers & butterflies near the rim which are a typical motif of this type of ware.

The dragon pattern is a little unusual - in my opinion it's much more attractive than the usual Canton famille rose designs. There are a couple of Canton plates with a dragon design shown here: http://www.jdmpics.com/china-dragon-plate.htm Sadly there isn't much further information on them. However, the main page states that the collection was purchased in 1921, and, given that one of the plates shown is marked 'Made in China', then that would suggest that they were brand new when purchased.

Datewise I'd give your a broad estimate of mid 19th to early twentieth century (though I'd be leaning towards the later end of this interval). Although your bowl is a little finer and slightly different in style, the dragons, floral panels and 'oeil de perdrix' border are all broadly similar to the pieces shown in the link, which, due to the 'made in' mark cannot pre-date 1919. That said, it seems these patterns were produced for a long time - hence why I'm hedging my bets and saying it's possibly a little earlier!
