Hi - Can anyone help with this studio pottery vase
« on: August 23, 2014, 05:36:00 PM »
Hi.  This is my first post on this board so I hope I've get it right.  Any advice about changes please let me know.

I found this piece of studio pottery in Huddersfield (West Yorkshire, UK) in a charity shop and hope that someone may be abler to identify date & maker.

There is an impressed mark on the base (see attached images).

It measures 16 cms tall x 18 cms wide x 5 cms deep and weighs 900 gms.

I've attached 3 images to this post (front, back and mark) and also 3 images on a reply (as suggested - both side views and the top view).

As said any help would be much appreciated.

Hello and welcome, been a bit quiet here recently can't help myself but others might be able to, I'll check my books but they are a bit old and this looks quite 'new'

Hi All. Not sure if this helps, but looking more closely at the impressed mark I'm almost certain that it's 2 letters inter-twinned - looking one way it could either be CP or GP, turning the vase over it could be either DG or DQ. Does that help anyone?

Hi.  Think I've found the mark - Cooper Pottery - 1960's / 1970's.  However I cannot find out any info (i.e. potters).  Do you have any information?  Thanks

Hi and welcome to the board! I'm not 100% convinced this is Cooper Pottery - the mark is slightly different - sufficiently so for me to be doubtful...  I'll have a mooch through my ref stuff and see what I can find too.
Cheers!
