This isn't one of the things from my living room but, it is a local to me story, as it was found just a few miles away...

I have seen other early Chinese porcelain go for lots of money at a local auction I occasionally attend, not as much as the vase in the story, but always more than the estimate and always in the thousands.

Never been that lucky! :-)

Me neither!

But there's been a few such finds locally, porcelain and paintings etc... I live in hope!
