Poodle Family - Marked Foreign
« on: December 14, 2007, 08:40:33 PM »
Hi All

If this works then I've finally learned how to re-size - fingers crossed.

Sorry the photo isn't too good, all very experimental.  :hb:

These cutie poodles are stamped FOREIGN on the base of the mother.  They look very French 1950s to me.

Hey hey, well done Sue. :)   Now to the poodles... which has just reminded me that years ago when I was a small child my mother had a set like these, except hers were black poodles. But like yours a big one and two puppies. Sadly I can't recall if they were marked or not. They were one of my favourites of mum's ornaments.
Cheers!

I suspect they might be Japanese French poodles - but I could be wrong. Great that you've cracked resizing but it's just a little too small. If you make one of the dimensions 400 pixels when you're choosing a size that usually works out small enough but big enough, if you see what I mean.

Thanks Anne

Yes, I too loved these sort of things as a child.  They have that china spaghetti type fur.  I seem to remember similar little glass sets as well.

Christine, thanks - I'll try that now.  I hope I can remember how I did it!

xx

I've heard some history about what had Foreign stamped on it but forgotten it as usual.  Is that what makes you and Christine think Japanese?  Or the spaghetti effect?

Yes, that and the eyes. I don't think China was into making this sort of thing in the same way in the 1950/60s as it is now. Trade with Japan was quite big post war.
