I thought it looked very unlike Keith Murray - although I believe he did do some glass as well?  Or am I mis-remembering?

You could try Sue - sometimes pairs sell better than singles, sometimes vice versa. Hard to tell really.

(We had a few flakes earlier but nothing serious down my end of the county yet.)
Cheers!

I agree with Pip, I usually list separately, but cross promote in the listing (like this one from a while back, although I didn't actually put a link in the auction, I should have done really, but it is more work!) - in this case the buyer bought them both.  I have also had pairs which have been bought by different people, perhaps to make up a pair where they only have one half.

For Keith Murray I very much agree... the prices on eBay are nowhere near his current sale value at an auction house.  But don't limit yourself to the big three, their fees are very high for mid range items like this.

IMHO a good local auction house with a 20th century design specialist sale is the very best place for these.
Here is a link to the auction houses in your neck of the woods...

hmm link will take you to the search box, you need to drop down to the North East, sorry, the link for that search won't stick.

Timing can be really difficult on eBay though... January is one of my best months. All the Chrissie money burning a hole in people's pockets...

Depends on how much you paid for them in the first place, and how much profit you wish to make as a minimum.

You don't fancy taking them to an auction house for an estimate then?

Well Lynne, i would have to go to Bonham's in Yorkshire as our local one's dont realy have a ceramics specialist, and i have been doing some research on them.
The main idea for my question was because i wasn't sure if it was wise to put a reserve on or to let them just go!!

There's no good advice to give you about reserves Sue... sometimes I use them , but much more rarely than previously, as you just end up paying your fees twice over.

If I have room in my profit margin, I will start as low as I can and keep my fingers crossed, if I have paid heavily for something, then I will start at what I think it is worth.

Sometimes it will sell happily at the high price.

Sometimes I will start high and it will not sell, so then I will start low and it sells for more than the high price I started it at previously.

Contrariwise, sometimes I start low, and that is where it stays and I don't make any money...  :thd:

I'm not sure I am helping...... :boohoo:

Aww dont worry Lynne, any advice is good advice as i know very little about selling, but as both you and Pip have pointed out now is the best time to sell, so i might just send an email to Bonhams and see what the say, the only thing that worries me are their fees!!

Make sure you get them to be very clear as to just what the fees will be and what they will and will not include
