This has been a most interesting discussion, and thanks Lustrousstone for that post.
The below site when you go on it-- go through the listing where there is both the *yellow* highlights (for Siam) and the *blue* highlights (for Thailand). Where both yellow, and blue highlights are for (Thailand and Siam) they say this is how the globes were made, and these are all documented to be c. 1949. Those entries states several places where globes had Thailand and (Siam)
in brackets -- like mine were made c.1949 as per listed on this whole site.
So (I think) the globe, and body (tin print, design) are of 1949 since the way it is printed with Thailand and Siam in brackets.
Most likely (I think), this is a c.1949 design model. The black lithograph print in regards to Queen Mother, was merely added on the 1949 model run for the forthcoming marriage (1953) on the production run, but yet Germany had changed yet (1949) also.
The globe wording of the countries listing in comparision to what this site lists for c.1949 design of the globes.
Hey, close enough......(I think) it is a 1949 style globe that was still going into production run-- even for the Royal Marriage, and this globe is c.1949 production style globe with a Royal Warrant for 1953. Germany is still in one piece on the globe, and not divided (1949). I am sure the small notation for the Queen Mother could have just been added to this production product, rather than doing a whole new globe style....as
IF it was made in 1953 or later....Germany would have to have been changed on the globe.
( I have an old Map book now -- I am scared to look at it now...lol)
Great detective work everyone.....
