Teapots
« on: January 21, 2008, 05:19:45 PM »
Three nice teapots...

the first two are by Woods of Burslem - the kiln is actually marked Shorter, it comes from a Shorter mould, but is a Woods teapot as they bought up the Shorter name and the moulds.

Last is an older Beswick one of Peggotty from David Copperfield.

Two Three teapots in the teapot gallery - a Wade one very modern, and a Wedgwood one, very antique! (edit: and I forgot the Art Deco Sadler one...... :thd:)

That Sadler is superb Lynne, I love it. The Xmas tree is fun too, thank you. I've added my greengrocer's shop as well - that's still a mystery maker - probably Taiwan or China!  8:)
Cheers!

The Sadler cars are marked with OKT42, is that how you can tell the fakes from the real thing? The Sadler aeroplane's don't seem to be marked.

It says in my book that Sudlows and Beswick made a coach/bus version.

Anyone seen a Sadler like this before?

Never, are the lines gold or brown TC? It's hard to make it out on my monitor.
Cheers!

You know TC, I like that. Yellow's not usually my thing, but that's so cheery and I like the shape.
Cheers!

Hmmmm do you drink a lot of tea, TC?  :24:  Seriously, what a great collection of teapots.  I only have three - the usable Churchill plain white one, the hotelware one from a former local hotel (now closed down), and my greengrocer's shop one.
Cheers!
