Laach Keramik
« on: November 29, 2007, 04:32:28 PM »
Just want to say a little bit more about the ceramics made by Maria Laach T?pferei, Maria Laach pottery. The leading potter there was Theodor Bogler, a real member of the Bauhaus movement. Well known for his outstanding and unusual pieces in the period of the Bauhaus. After the death of his wife he went to the convent of Maria Laach and lived there as a monk. But worked in the ceramics workshop of this convent for years. He worked in the convent Maria Laach from 1927 till his death in the year 1968. He also made designs (mostly religiously) for the Karlsruher Majolika Manufaktur in Karlsruhe from 1936 - 1968 and for the HB-Werkst?tten (Hedwig Bollhagen Workshop) from 1934 - 1938.

Please, excuse my bad english, I?m from Germany.

Best regards - Anne

Here is the link, unfortunately only available in German. But it shows the
context to the Bauhaus movement. It?s from the Bauhaus Museum.
