The napoleon vase is something I'd pay somebody to take away, even if it was in one piece! Hideous.(IMNSHO)

But I clicked on a link to uglyvase, and saw a blue and white flower tree thingy.....which I recognise as being a ginger jar minus lid. We used to get ginger, in syrup, in jars exactly like this. They had wickerwork stuff around them, with a handle. It's a commercial container, I do believe.

Oh! You mean this one? http://www.uglyvase.co.uk/2007/08/tree-of-flowers-a-little-blue-vase.html
You mean it's not a vase? Oops! Shall I smash it in that case? :D

No!  Put in on the shelf in the kitchen with some ginger in it!

That's the one, Chris, but do not necessarly believe me when it comes to blue and white pottery - I cannot tell the difference between good stuff and rotten stuff in this genre!

It still looks remarkably like a crystallised ginger-in-syrup jar to me, but get confirmation from somebody who does know, before you smash it.

Tony - I honestly don't know if you're joking or not!

Sadly I think you're right - saw a similar one at a car boot today!
Still that makes it even more fitting, it's not only ugly, it's not even a proper vase  :D

Sue, I agree, it looks like a ginger jar minus its lid.
Cheers!
