Mustard coloured vase with bamboo...
« on: August 04, 2007, 06:28:16 AM »
Well I went through the ebay cupboard and found 2 vases..but this one Ive never been able to find anything about so havent listed it. I do know the lady I got it from had gotten it from her mother and she'd had it for over 30 years. But thats not to say its just a japanese vase. No markings on the base.
9 1/4 inches tall.

Pottery and ceramics in general were amongst the easiest of industries for the Japanese to revive after the war and so  in the 50s and 60s they produced a helluva lot of it and I could believe that this piece is one such. But what made YOU think it could be Japanese ??

PS looks like it could be Mimosa blossom to me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimosa

Just because of the bamboo aspect on one side. And because we have a lot of Japanese items in Australia. You tend to start with it being Japanese and go from there.
